Spax is the one British Company still manufacturing shock absorbers in England that was working with British Car manufacturers in the 1960’s. Our 28 stage adjustable, Krypton gas pressurised, dampers offer users the ability to tune suspension for optimum car configuration / conditions / driving style combination. Gas pressurising minimises damper fade and provides a broader performance envelope, including increased low speed response and feel. Suspension set-up can then be quickly and easily adapted to suit changing circumstances and set to feel “just right” for an individual driver. Being on-car adjustable also provides instant wear compensation to offset age related performance degradation that would otherwise demand immediate replacement of other makes.
All our dampers are still designed and hand-built, to meticulous standards, in Oxfordshire, England. Everything is built, by our craftsmen, with strict quality control at every stage in manufacture. Our catalogue has thousands of telescopic dampers, coilover and spring kits, specifically designed for the listed cars – every car / component combination has been road tested prior to inclusion in our compatibility guide.
We have a proud history and racing pedigree stretching back over 60 years, having been one of the pioneers in the industry many other companies have tried to copy our successful designs but none can match the attention to detail and experience supplied by Spax with every damper!
We don’t rely on offshore supply chains, all the dampers we produce are manufactured in Britain allowing us to maintain quality and be flexible – reliably quoting a 7 day lead time. Unlike some of our competitors we have our own factory, in Bicester, manufacturing to exacting TuV standards. We don't sub-contract our production from overseas and can offer industry leading one week production leadtimes. Quality inspectors monitor every stage of the production process. Spax motorsport dampers are manufactured to meticulous standards to produce winning performance straight from the box.
Spax lowering springs will reduce the roll on your car and improve handling whilst lowering it to look cooler! All our springs are made from Chrome Silicon Steel which is lighter and prevents sagging and still provides the best possible corosion resistance.
Most Spax Springs are progressively wound to offer a softer ride a low speeds and stiffer when you need it at higher velocity! The reduced suspension travel caused by lowering requires a stiffer spring rate which is why quality is so important, all ours are made in Europe to the toughest TuV standards.
Whether it's a damper designed specifically from our TrakSpax range, or supplied off the shelf from our catalogue, Spax dampers are all on-car adjustable to provide tuned suspension set-up. It doesn't matter if you use Spax on the road or the track, the quality, performance, roadholding and driver confidence will all be upgraded from original equipment. Drivers can tune handling and suspension response to the prevailing conditions and their driving style.
Our TrakSpax bespoke racing dampers are double adjustable, offering 100% independent adjustment of rebound and bump to perfectly set the exact response demanded for speicif track and driver combinations!
Our lowering springs will reduce roll and provide improved handling, but springs alone are not the answer if you are looking to significantly improve your suspension. Springs absorb much of the intital shock but dampers control the "bump and rebound" forces. A matched combination of Springs and Upgraded, Adjustable, Dampers will transform the look and performance of your car.

Supplied with carefully selected race coils, the coilover dampers providing ride height adjustment as well as 28 stages of damping response variation, RSX kits allow users set corner weights to control weight distribution & adjust damping (both rebound and bump vary independently at 3:1 ratio) response to perfectly set your car for the handling, control and roadholding experience you demand !
